Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian style spicy fried rice. What an exotic name, don’t you think? This dish is prepared by stirring in left over rice with chicken and/or prawns with seasonings and topped with a fried egg. Often served as a main dish, it is also had for breakfast.
The dish hails from the island of Java and the authentic ingredient include long-grain jasmine rice which is cooked and cooled so as to avoid being mashed and mushy when you combine with the chicken and vegetables.
There are very many variants to this recipe and I guess, this is an easy but flavorful one. Whip up for a quick supper, I tell you.
