Raw Mango Chutney | Pacha Manga Chammanthi

A thick chutney made with green mangoes and grated coconut


  • 1/2 of one raw mango
  • 4 shallots
  • 2 green chillies
  • 3 Dry red chillies
  • 2 sprigs of Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Coconut, grated
  • 1/2 inch piece of Ginger
  • Salt, to taste


  1. Roughly peel (leave and let bits of the skin be) and chop half of one green mango.
  2. Coarsely grind the mango pieces, green chilies, dry red chilies, ginger, and shallots.
  3. Add grated coconut and curry leaves and coarsely grind again.
  4. Add salt to taste.
  5. Serve with rice.


You can add a tsp of coconut oil and a few tablespoons of water to get a slightly loose consistency.
