Kerala Style Apple Pudding

  • Apples: 4 medium-sized
  • Milk: 500 ml
  • Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Water: 2-3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 1/2 tsp
  • Butter: 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Custard powder: 3 to 4 tbsp


  1. Peel, core and cube the apples.
  2. Heat a pan and add butter. When it melts, add the cubed apples, sugar and water. Mix well.
  3. Add cinnamon powder and mix again.
  4. Stew the apples for about 10-15 mins or till done.
  5. Add lemon juice and mix well. Keep aside.
  6. Add and ix custard powder in 3 tbsp milk. Add this to remaining milk and cook for about ten minutes or until it thickens. Pour the custard into a pudding dish and refrigerate for 15 mins.
  7. Top it with stewed apples and refrigerate again.
  8. Serve chilled with a sprinkle of cinnamon and castor sugar.
