Indian Spiced Peas

  • 500 gms peas, fresh or frozen
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp ginger julienne
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, a little


  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add green chillies and ginger. Saute.
  2. Add the spice powders, salt and a splash of water.
  3. Add in the peas and coat them with the spices. Cover and cook on low flame for about ten minutes. They would be slightly wrinkled.
  4. Sprinkle garam masala and serve.
