Description
Easy-to-make one-pot delicious Indian Veg Pulao where fragrant basmati rice is cooked with vegetables and spices.
Ingredients

- 1.5 cups Basmati Rice, washed
- 2 and a quarter cup Water
- 3 tbsp Ghee (or Oil/Butter)
- 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1" Cinnamon
- 2 Cardamom
- 1 cup Onion, finely sliced
- 1/4 cup Green beans, chopped (or diagonally cut)
- 1/8 cup Carrot, finely chopped
- 1/8 cup Sweet Corn
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a deep utensil and add ghee/oil/butter. Add finely chopped garlic, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- To this add finely sliced onion and saute.
- Once the onion is slightly browned, add chopped green beans. Saute for a couple of minutes.
- To this, add finely chopped carrot and saute.
- Add the sweet corn. Mix well.
- Add washed basmati/long grain rice to it and mix.
- Season it with some salt. You may also add a dash of garam masala powder. This is completely optional.
- Add water and cover and cook until the rice is done.
Notes
This is a stovetop recipe. However, please refer to the beginning of the post to find out how to cook this pulao in an electric rice cooker or pressure cooker.
