Thandai Powder

  • Author: Shalini
  • Total Time: 10 mins
  • Yield: 6 Servings 1x

Description

Thandai Powder is a healthy and refreshing powder mix made with dry fruits, seeds, and spices. Make Thandai by adding this Thandai Masala to chilled milk. It makes for a refreshing hydrating drink for Holi!

Ingredients

Scale

1/4 cup Cashew nuts

1/4 cup Almonds

1/4 cup Pistachios

10 Cardamom pods

10 nos Black Peppercorns

2 tbsp Melon seeds

1 tbsp Poppy seeds

1 tbsp Fennel seeds

2 pinches of Saffron strands

2 tbsp Dried Rose petals

Instructions

Add all the ingredients to a spice grinder.

Grind until you get a fine powder.

Notes

You may store it in an airtight container and use it as needed.

Do not churn or over grind the nuts and spices for too long in the food processor. The oil in the nuts will release and turn rancid when blended for a long time. The powder will also turn wet and sticky. It is best to grind in a few quick pulses.

You may skip adding an ingredient or two if you do not have them handy. It will still taste delicious.
