It's one of Kerala's favorite tea-time snacks. Popularly known as Mutta Kuzhalappam, it is also called Love letters mainly because of the shape or the folds and a sweet filling inside as in a love letter! ๐ Do you love love-letters? Hand written letters? I treasure them. I guess I still have those love notes given to me by my 'admirers'. Psst psst. I hope P doesn't read this. *winkwink* I'm more of a crazy personalized letters/ hand-written notes person, than chats or emails or whatever! That feeling of a person taking time to write for you is cute, isn't it ? I can write good ones too. I was being called the 'Mistress of Letters"! Oh good ol' days!
Anyway, Love letters are thin crapes or pancakes with a sweet cocunut filling. These days in hotels you also get them with spicy meat filling. Well,ย here's the recipe!

Just catching up with everyone's posts as I had been under the weather the past few days. So glad I came back to check this one. Such a cute name. I think in our (south indian -konkani) cuisine there is something similar that is called Patoli. The only difference is that it is steamed. Never made it. Always ate it when mom prepared. ๐

These sound really yummy! But you mention two spices I've never heard of before and not sure if I can find them locally.
