One of the most sought after delicacies of Kerala, this black beauty is mostly found in the backwaters of Alleppey. The most popular "Karimeen" dishes include "Karimeen fry", "Karimeen Pollichathu" and " Karimeen Mappas" and they are extensively served in toddy shops and house boats.
Ingredients:
Pearl spots cleaned- 1, Ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp each,
Chilli powder- 2tsp, Turmeric powder- a pinch, Pepper powder- 1tsp, Salt - to taste, Oil for frying
Method:
Marinate fishes with all the ingredients except oil. Fry them in hot oil.
Garnish with onion rings and lemon wedges.

Is it bad that even though I've been eating garlic all week--so much garlic in fact that not all the scented hand lotion in the world can get the smell of it off me-- I STILL got excited that garlic paste is an ingredient here?
