Here’s a modern variety of Modaks or Kozhukkatas- Chocolate Modaks! Yum, right? I guess, my little Ganesha would love it. Try serving to your little ones and indulge in the joy. 🙂

Inspired from Zee Khana Khazana

Ingredients:

Rice flour – 1 cup, Grated Jaggery – a handful, (or Sugar) Coconut – 3/4 cup, grated, Ghee – 1/2 tsp, Crushed cardamom – a tsp, Water – 3/4 cup, Milk- 1/4cup, Chocolate syrup- 3tbsp, Chocolate powder/Cocoa powder- 2tbsp, Chopped dry fruits- 2tbsp, Salt

Method:

Make the dough as suggested in my Sweet Modak recipe. Add water and milk. Add chocolate syrup and little chocolate powder while kneading the dough. Keep aside.

Prepare the filling by mixing jaggery, grated coconut, cardamon powder, chocolate/cocoa powder and dry fruits. Keep aside.

Make modaks with the help of moulds as in the previous recipe.

Steam and serve hot.
