Biriyani is one of those dishes where the sheer mention of it makes you salivate. Though it is believed to be of Persian origin, I must say, Biriyani is India’s pride.
I love all things biriyani and I always try and make the different varieties.
I am hoping to try out many more recipes because there really are hundreds of Biriyani dishes. But for now, here are a few of my favorite lip-smacking goodness of Biriyani recipes from across the country.
8 Best Biriyani Recipes You Can Make At Home

1. Kerala Chicken Biriyani
The delicious classic Kerala Chicken Biriyani is made by layering chicken gravy with fluffy aromatic basmati rice. This Kerala Chicken Biriyani is influenced by the Kottayam region and will have a typical Syrian Christian touch.

2. Egg Biriyani
Here’s an easy one-pot meal made with fried hardboiled eggs, and Egg Roast Masala.

3. Fish Biriyani
Fish biryani is a layered rice dish made with fish, basmati rice, spices & herbs. It’s quite easy to prepare and is a must-try for all seafood lovers.

4. Lamb Kebab Biriyani
Got some spicy, juicy lamb kebabs leftover from a barbecue! How about converting it to a quick Lamb Kebab Biriyani?

6. Prawn Biriyani
Prawn Biriyani or Shrimp Biriyani, also popularly known as Jheenga Biriyani is one of the easiest biriyanis to prepare. This recipe doesn’t take more than 40 minutes to prepare because shrimps are easy to cook, unlike mutton or chicken.

7. Hyderabadi Chicken Biriyani
Hyderabadi Dum Chicken Biriyani is a world-famous dish from Hyderabad, India. It’s a non-vegetarian’s delight and is fairly simple since there is no sauteing of spices or meat. All you have to do is cook the meat and rice in a slow dum process, trapping the steam and aroma to retain the flavor and authentic taste.

8. Paneer Biriyani
Paneer Biryani is a super delicious and aromatic dish made using fragrant basmati rice, cubes of paneer (Indian cottage cheese), and spices.
