Craving for dessert during the Ketogenic diet? Here’s a quick and hassle-free recipe for a Keto Chocolate Mug Cake. Low carb and a quick and easy version of chocolate cake.

When in Keto diet, you say goodbye to all varieties of sugars and chocolate. The only thing you can have is good quality Dark Chocolate. Even though it is a much preferred ‘Keto Snack’, how much is too much? Husband says sugar cravings is mostly because of our mind is playing games. However, it is only normal to crave those sweet desserts when on a diet.

I am not a baker. I cannot operate a convection oven for the life of me. Yeah, don’t laugh, I am $h!t scared of it because the one time I tried to bake a cake, sparks flew and that’s it. It’s probably because I used the wrong utensil. But I haven’t touched the scary lil’ thing ever since -not even to boil a cup of water. So, trying this recipe took all my courage and I don’t know if I’d be doing an oven recipe anytime soon.
P.S: I will, just root for me, will ya?

Description

Keto Chocolate Cake in a Mug (or Ramekin) is a microwave recipe! Super-easy and delicious, it can be made in under 5 minutes (in total!)

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 25 gms Almond four
  • 1.5 tbsp Cocoa powder
  • A pinch of Salt
  • 1 tsp Stevia
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Instant Coffee powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized Egg
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • A few drops of Vanilla Essence

For Ganache

  • 1 tbsp Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
  2. Add the wet ingredients one by one and mix well to form a lump-free batter.
  3. Pour this into a coffee mug or into a ramekin. If you’re using a ramekin, pour only half of the batter. The cake will rise upon baking. So, you can have two portion sizes with this batter.
  4. Tap to even out the batter.
  5. Microwave for about 50 seconds (if you are looking for a gooey texture) or a minute.
  6. For the ganache, microwave the dark chocolate chips and butter to melt. Mix well.
  7. Pour atop the cake, add a few dark chocolate chips and you’re good to go!

This looks like something even I could make–I’m not a great baker. And seems delish.

Um. Yum. I’m not doing the Keto diet, but I am trying to swap out some of my favorite treats for healthier versions of this. And I’m with you on being scared of kitchen appliances … I’m constantly afraid of setting my house on fire when I cook.

Chocolate cake in a mug in under 5 minutes??!! I still cannot believe a cake can cook that fast and still be healthy. I am currently on a no sugar diet and I am wondering if having this will give me cravings.

We just had a dinner party last weekend and a huge bulk of the conversation was about the Keto diet. Sounds like it is doing great things for people.

Everything in this simple recipe sounds delicious and not that of a diet at all! win win

This looks beautiful. I can’t wait to make these someday. My friends always used to make mug cakes so effortlessly, and although I always wanted to try it myself, I’m not the best baker!

When you look at the photos you think that no way this cake can be keto, with so much gooey chocolate. But reading the ingredients, it surprises you. I’d love to try it out, for a dessert without guilt.
