Take your regular french toast to the next level with this Nutella/Chocolate Spread French Toast Roll-Ups!

Chocolate Spread French Toast Roll-Ups

One of the most difficult things for me as a homemaker is to come up with recipes for breakfast. I have heard my Mum complain about this often though she effortlessly comes up with different foods for breakfast throughout the week. From the traditional South Indian Appam and Idiyappam to an occasional Puri to Sandwiches, she tries to make the most important meal of the day interesting. I try to do the same too but there are days when I want to indulge in decadent food which would instantly pep me up.

That’s when I make french toasts layered with a chocolate spread, mostly Nutella. But have you tasted a Chocolate and Rhum Spread?

Masala Monk recently sent me a cute little package of their popular Chocolate and Rhum Spread. Believe me, when I say, I dipped a spoon into the jar in no time for a taste. Here’s a detailed review of the product before we delve into the recipe.

Masala Monk Chocolate and Rhum Spread: Review

About the Product

The Chocolate and Rhum Spread by Masala Monk comes with a defined aromatic bouquet where the warm notes of Cuban Rhum meet the slightly fruity notes of dark cacao and Italian olive oil. To enjoy on a spoon, to pour on gelato or to savour as a topping in your evening coffee. This chocolate spread is free from hydrogenated fats and palm oil.

Rhum infused chocolate spread is the spreadable version of the traditional Cuba Rhum chocolate recipe made with 56% extra dark chocolate and selected Rhum from Cuba.

Ingredients

Extra dark chocolate (cocoa paste, sugar, cocoa butter, Emulsifier: SOY lecithin, natural vanilla flavour, Cocoa: 56% min.), Water, Rum, Sugar, Glucose syrup, Cocoa powder, Cocoa butter, Whole milk powder, Vegetable fiber.

The Packaging

The product came in a glass jar and that instantly made me happy. Glass jars are any day better than plastic containers and they can be easily reused. The packaging was given extra care from breakage during transport. When I opened the glass jar, a warm aroma wafted into the room.

Explosion of flavors

The spread is silky, creamy and easy to smear. It has got a definite kick to it because of the Rhum added onto it and isn’t overly chocolatey. As the name suggests, the two main ingredients of the product are dark chocolate and Rhum and I know that I am addicted to at least one of these (Go figure out which!) It’s a perfect blend, one flavor not overpowering the other. Definitely delicious, a word of caution though: You are prone to get addicted soon. Beware!

My first lick of the spread off the spoon, I had a brain wave. I knew exactly how I wanted to use it than just a regular spread.

Priced at Rs.799, there is a huge discount currently running on the website. So, this is the right time for you to grab this product (and others!) The products are freshly made and has a shelf life of 6 months.

Chocolate Spread French Toast Roll-Ups

French Toasts are my favorite breakfast/brunch option because it is easy to prepare and there is not much you need to do when you want to whip up something real quick. Adding this Chocolate and Rhum Flavored Spread, however, took French Toasts to a whole nother level. Here’s what you need:

Step by step instructions and pictures to make Chocolate Spread French Toast Roll-Ups

Get hold of a few Bread slices, Masala Monk Chocolate and Rhum Spread, a dash of Milk, an Egg or two, Sugar, Butter, and Vanilla Essence – you are ready to go.

You may choose to use Nutella, if you can’t get hold of this brand. It will still taste amazing and your kids are going to love it! What more! Suprise your loved one with these Nutella Frech Toast RollUps for a lazy breakfast in bed!

Trim off the edges of the bread slices. Flatten the bread slice using a rolling pin. Go easy about it, the bread may crumble.

Spread the Chocolate and Rhum Spread or Nutella (generously). Hold your horses about giving it a lick. Tightly roll the slices inward.

It’s time to make the egg batter. Whisk together an egg, a quarter cup of milk, sugar, and vanilla essence. Heat butter in a pan. Dip the rolled-up bread one by one and place it on the hot pan.

Cook all the sides until golden brown. Remove and a delicious brunch is ready.

If you have patience still, powder a little sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this atop the French Toast Roll-Ups. You could also add a dash of maple syrup or chocolate syrup. There is nothing called too much chocolate!

I just read the title of this post and went and brought out the bread and butter from the fridge. I don’t have any chocolate rum, so I am going to make do with a completely different recipe for now–cheese, corn toast–and then I am going to drool over your french toasts for sometime. 😛

Loved the recipe as always and also how beautifully you have shared the review along with the recipe. 🙂

I love the recipe with the choco spread. The product seems to be a good pick despite the price, for it is freshly prepared. Looks like I have to make this for my kids. They would love it .

This sounds like such a delish product! I don’t think I’ll manage to make any recipes, I’ll just dig in withba spoon and finish it off! I might try to team it with toast or mix it in milk. Your french toast looks drool-worthy! A gourmet product worth trying!
