Dalgona Coffee or whipped coffee is a delicious homemade frothy coffee made with just 5 ingredients.

Remember the Beaten coffee recipe, I had shared a few months ago? I also mentioned an interesting custom that we follow here in the Army where the 1 am-gatecrashing-Young Officers are put to task by letting them beat the hell out of this coffee mixture.

Dalgona Coffee is only an exotic version of our very own Beaten Coffee, only it is served ice-cold.

    | How to make Beaten Coffee

But let's keep up with the trend, shall we?

This new coffee recipe has taken Social Media by storm ever since it went viral in Tik Tok. Needless to say, the trend enthralled users of other platforms like Facebook and Instagram as well. Believe me, when I say, there is a #DalgonaCoffee feature on almost every account I follow on Instagram.

In this time of quarantine and staying home, everyone is trying their own version of this sensational coffee.

That said, I really hope and pray that you are staying home and are safe from the virus. Practice social distancing. It would be daunting to work from home especially if you've kids around. But try to keep them engaged with books and games.

    What is Dalgona Coffee?

They say Dalgona Coffee has its origin from India, Macau, and Pakistan. But then, it surged in popularity when it first appeared on a Korean television show where the actor nicknamed his coffee- Dalgona.

Preparation of this coffee went viral on Tiktok and the rest is history. This South Korean whipped coffee resembling a Korean honeycomb toffee thus attracted millions.

    How to Make Dalgona Coffee

This is one of the easiest and quickest way to enjoy a delicious whipped coffee at home.

Whisk together equal amounts of instant coffee powder, sugar, and hot water. You may use an electric beater/mixer or a hand whisk for beating this mixture. It may take about 5-8 minutes if you are using a hand whisk.

It is beaten till you get a nice, frothy, creamy texture. You will notice that small frothy peaks are formed when you pull out your whisk. That's when you know the coffee mix is perfect.

Add ice cubes in a glass. Pour chilled milk and top it with this whipped coffee. You may dust some cinnamon powder/cocoa powder/drinking chocolate powder.

Also, add some sprinkles to make it more appealing.

    That's it.

Serve it with a long-stem spoon so that your guests can mix everything together when they are ready to drink.

    Please Note:

Use only Instant Coffee powder to make this recipe.

Here's the recipe for South Indian Filter Kaapi (Coffee)?

P.S: I'd also like to let you know that, under the given circumstances, I would not be doing the #AtoZChallenge as advertised before. It's mainly because I will not be able to gather all the required Keto ingredients. Fret not! I ain't going anywhere. I'll be popping here with recipes like these always!

    Please take care!
